Vickie Howell Montoya Merino Light

$20.00 USD

Montoya Merino Light, the 2nd yarn in the Montoya Merino Line, is a DK/sport-weight superwash merino that has a soft hand and drapes like a dream. Each color in the palette is vibrant and saturated, with names giving a nod to the southwestern heritage of Vickie's paternal family.

Looking for a heavier weight yarn, try the original, Montoya Merino!

Montoya Merino Light is produced for us by Urth Yarns (https://urthyarns.com)

  • 100% superwash merino wool
  • Sport-weight
  • 300 yds/ 100 gr
  • Gauge: 5.5 stitches per inch on Size US 5/3.75 mm

Natural and animal fibers often benefit from being kept wound in hanks until you're ready to start your project. The reason for that is that the winding process, into a cake or ball, stretches the fibers and if left in that put-up for a length of time can affect the integrity of the yarn, which can in turn change the gauge and drape of the project it's being made into.

So, even though most knitters and crocheters would love to just be able to dive right into stitching the moment that we get our yarn, know that the extra care when using higher-end, quality wool is totally worth it!
